FACTORY (Lite)

Objectivo | Goal

Robot@Factory Lite is a robot created by professors Paulo Costa e José Lima from Instituto Politécnico de Bragança.

This robot is part of the Robot@Factory Lite challenge in the Portuguese Open Robotics.

Descrição | Overview

The Robot @ Factory Lite test is based on the Robot @ Factory rules with some simplifications both mechanically and hardware.

While in the original test the robot has to pick up the box in a forklift shape, in this version the robot only does it with an electromagnet that attracts the box by dragging it where it is needed. The dimensions were also adjusted so that this competition can use smaller robots whose control can be done with an embedded system or with a simple microcontroller.

The floor consists of an impression on two A0 sheets, where the black lines on a white background serve to locate the robot. The layout is simplified to facilitate transport and collection maneuvers, with no gaps either in the machines or in the warehouses. The start and finish warehouse location remains the same.

In the first sleeve, just like the original test, it is necessary to move the boxes between the departure warehouse and the arrival warehouse. In the second sleeve, some boxes must pass through the processing machines and in the third sleeve, some boxes must pass through two processing machines. The goal will be to transport as many boxes as possible in the shortest time.
