ROVS
Objetivo | Goal
ROVS are semi-autonomous underwater vehicles that help to gather images and other data from deep ocean. This project aims to create didactic ROVs to be used at the University and in schools. We intend to capture interest in engineering and technology in general, and contribute to increasing literacy on the importance of the Ocean.
Descrição | Overview
We intend to create two type of ROVs:
S-ROV (student's ROV) with a strong didactic component, in a kit that must be assembled. They are designed to be used in pools or lagoons where they can be easily deployed . They will have the maximum size 200mm X 200mm X 200mm and the most part of its components are printed in a 3D-printer.
U-ROV (university ROV) aims to create a ROV to be used in research context for projects for data gathering. This project has the direct support of American Corner and FLAD.
Milestones
The first hardware tests to control the motors have been made. The motors will be added to the structure and the first test in water will be made soon (february, 2020).
